Litter Y

Sibyl is the great-great-great-granddaughter of one of my favourite cats, Youngsmile, a German import who ruled our household until her death last year. Sibyl’s the same fun tortie shade as her mother, a wonderful splotchy red that makes her look like a lion cub, and has a lovely head and a very long body. Matched with Thunderstruck’s angularity and extremely long body and low ears, we’ll hopefully have some rock stars here.
Sibyl had her five kittens without issue and is an absolutely fantastic mother, attentive, full of milk, with fat, happy babies. They are very charming in personality, even tempered and very social and have grown up to be really lovely cats. .

Kittens that are marked "OPTION" are likely to be reserved, but no final decision has been made. Reservations are taken no earlier than 8 weeks (and often later, as we watch the kittens grow up and verify who will be staying here), and kittens that are marked "RESERVED" are no longer available. If for any reason a kitten becomes available again after an initial reservation, it will be re-listed as "AVAILABLE”.
At present, all kittens are in option for potential pet, breeding or showing homes (including ours), but there is always a chance that one becomes again available. If you’re interested in these or any other kittens, please email us at info@practicalcats.ca with an introduction! You may also want to read read our TERMS & CONDITIONS.

kitten

Yam

Red tabby --- MALE --- RESERVED

We nicknamed him love kitten more or less as soon as he was born, and he’s a delightfully sweet kitten who wants to climb on your shoulder or in your lap and purr up a storm. He’s playful and happy as you’d expect in a kitten, but he loves cuddling more than almost anything else on the planet.

kitten

Yarrow

Cream (silver?) tabby --- MALE --- RESERVED

The third of our ‘red’ boys in the Y litter, Yarrow is an amazingly cool colour, a pale pale cream that almost glows in the light. He’s got a personality to match, sweet, social, with a huge purr and a lot of play. He’s a great little kitten who will make anyone happy.

kitten

Yodel

Red (silver?) tabby --- MALE --- RESERVED

From the name, I bet you can figure out that he has a voice on him. Yodel is as sweet as you’d expect from a red boy and fifteen times as loud. He’s got something to say about everything and is easy to find from noise alone. His purr is as loud as his protests, and he is playful, happy, and loves to visit the other cats and our dog.

kitten

Yorick

Black tabby --- MALE --- RESERVED

It’s taken Yorick the longest to come into himself -- in the sea of pushy red boy cats, it’s easy to overlook him, but he’s now as pushy and sweet and obnoxious as all the rest of his litter. Very playful, he’s always willing to chase after a toy, and loves wrestling with his siblings and the other similar aged kittens.

kitten

Youngsmile

Black spotted torbie --- FEMALE --- STAYS

The Y litter’s great-great-great-great-grandmother was MRGC/MRGP Bestcats Yesterday’s Youngsmile, our beloved pet cat who passed away in 2019. Youngsmile was a force of nature who was one of the queens of our household who joined the house as a retired breeder and spent five wonderful years yelling at people for petting and bossing everyone around. In her honour, we’ve named the only girl in the Y litter Youngsmile -- and she’s living up to the name. Baby Youngsmile is a demanding little monster who climbs shoulders to scream in your ear and then rub her entire body against your head, then settle in for a cuddle and make it clear that you can never move. She’s got a moderate earset, a lovely body, and really beautiful eye shape and colour, plus a fun red patch on her butt and a pale tail tip.
